We are glad to announce the Sanction of Grant Assistance by NABARD – National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development under the Geographical Indication (GI) Scheme for the registration of 09 distinctive traditional products from Tamil Nadu to NABARD MABIF during the Grameen Bharat Mahotsav 2025 (குறிஞ்சி மேளா ’25) held on 20th June 2025, at Hall B, Codissia Trade Fair Complex, Coimbatore.
This significant initiative, supported by NABARD – National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, aims to preserve, protect and promote Tamil Nadu’s unique heritage products. The sanctioned assistance has enabled the GI registration of the following traditional products:
-Karuganni Cotton
-Kadambur Boli
-Poovila Chendu Banana
-Ammanpuram Monthan Banana
-Kayalpattinam Dum Adai
-Kalakad Banana
-Kallidaikurichi Appalam
-Adhanakootai Cashew
-Sevur Groundnut
This milestone marks a major step toward strengthening the GI ecosystem, enhancing brand identity and improving market access for rural producers through inclusive and sustainable development.
