MABIF’s “Training on Indoor Saffron Cultivation”

Madurai Agri Business Incubation Forum (NABARD MABIF) successfully organized a “Training on Indoor Saffron Cultivation” on 23rd May 2025 at the Agricultural College & Research Institute, TNAU Campus, Madurai.

The program was inaugurated by Dr. P. P. Mahendran, Dean, AC&RI – Madurai, with an inspiring opening note setting the tone by Er. K. Ganesh Moorthy K, ED & CEO, NABARD MABIF.

From understanding the GI-tagged Kashmir saffron cultivation techniques to exploring future thrusts in saffron farming and value addition, the session offered deep insights for aspiring Agri-entrepreneurs, Students, Farmers and growers.

💡 Key Highlights:
🔸 Dr. M. A. Ansar Ali, HOD – Entomology, Spices Board of India, ICRI, Idukki, shared in-depth technical know-how and future perspectives.
🔸 Mr. A.R. Manikandan, Founder, Jieths Agro (A NABARD MABIF Incubatee), guided participants through the nuances of indoor saffron cultivation techniques.
🔸 Mrs. Deepika SG, Manager (Incubation & Investments), MABIF, presented MABIF’s incubation and industrial support services.

The valedictory ceremony was graced by Dr. P. P. Mahendran, Dean, AC&RI, Madurai, who also presented training certificates to all participants, marking the successful culmination of the knowledge-packed day.

The training witnessed 80+ participants from across Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Telangana and Hyderabad, showcasing the growing interest in high-value indoor farming practices.
