Dr. N. Kumar began his career as an Assistant Professor in Horticulture  during  1979 at TNAU and  by consistent and meritorious performance, he rose to occupy  the position of Dean of  Horticultural college and Research Institute, TNAU, Coimbatore during 2009-2013 before becoming the 13thVice chancellor of  the  renowned Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore .

Buyer Seller Meet:

MABIF is currently handholding and mentoring 300 plus FPOs supported by NABARD and Government of Tamilnadu. Almost 170 plus FPOs has been registered by MABIF with e-NAM, which is one of the flagship programs of the Government of India with support from NABARD. MABIF has also rolled out Blockchain for Organic Food Traceability for FPOs and its in operation with support from NABARD. However, the major constraints for FPOs are Market Linkage and support to fulfill the last mile connectivity either in the form of compliance or in the form of quality/ pricing.

Greater numbers of organizational buyers and sellers are moving away from the traditional adversarial approach to purchasing towards the development of closer, more cooperative, buyer-seller relationships. Hence, MABIF propose to organize the Buyer seller meet with strategic support APEDA (Buyers). 


FPO-Start-Up Immersion Program:

This program is a unique initiative of NABARD, Where the agri-start-ups will get an opportunity to take their innovations to the doorsteps of the farmers, while promoting and nurturing a culture of technology adoption/innovation-centric focus by the farmers.

The Start-up Immersion program was a win-win scenario for the start-ups and FPOs. The use of technology allows FPOs to reap the benefits of economies of scale and informed decision-making, thereby improving the economic and social status of the farmers. On the other hand, Start-up entrepreneurs get better outreach to farmers.

MABIF is bringing together 100 plus start-ups, where they can showcase their products to potential buyers (Businesses/Farmers) as well as users (Consumers/Farmers).


Start-Up & FPO Product/Services Exhibition:

MABIF is also planning to showcase the products of its incubatees i.e., both Start-ups and FPOs. MABIF is proposing to provide 120 plus stalls to its incubatees. This platform will help start-ups and FPOs an opportunity to showcase their products to the stakeholders of this ecosystem to understand the standards, innovativeness and uniqueness of their products/services.

The exhibition will be live streaming. Moreover, the stalls will be there on an online platform to showcase the products/services of the Start-ups/FPOs to the entire country and to the participants, who were not able to make the program. The continued promotions will support the start-ups/FPOs to have a strong market presence, which will help them to create trust and credibility in the market.
